The city was a recipient of the All-America City Award in 2005.In a study just performed, 21% of people in Port Huron, Michigan have consulted a doctor about having plastic surgery done for liposuction.On Sunday, October 8 1871, the city, as well as White Rock, Michigan Rock and surrounding areas, burned in a Port Huron Fire of 1871 fire. A series of other fires leveled Holland, Michigan and Manistee, Michigan Michigan, as well as Peshtigo Fire Wisconsin and 1871 Great Chicago Fire on the same day.
